Ho Chi Minh

Ho Chi Minh or popularly known as Saigon, is a high-octane city, driving Vietnam forward with its boundless energy. Sprawling rapid modernization and the ghosts of the past through its timeless alleys, Saigon invokes strong feelings. The largest city of Vietnam and once reputed as a former capital, Saigon is a conundrum of the old and modern worlds blending seamlessly into one.

Smells of the coffee and the baking bread, the mad honking traffic and crowded streets will be one of your first encounters in this city. But when you wander through the lanes to its pagodas or teeming bazaars, you will only be left charmed. The Jade Emperors Pagoda, the War Remnant Museum, Ben Thanh Market, Reunification Palace, Fine Arts Museum, Theme Parks and Bonsai Dinner Cruise on Saigon River are some of the must-sees and the must-dos in this city.

We strongly recommend that you take time to experience and explore the city !!

Nha Trang

Paddy Plantations in the SAPA Valley

Nha Trang is Vietnam's most famous seaside resort-town. It's more lively and urban in character than other Vietnamese beach destinations. With towering mountains looming up behind the city, the sweeping beach stretching into the distance, the turquoise waters dotted with little islands gives this place a very stunning background.

Located about 450km northeast of Ho Chi Minh City in the southern part of Vietnam, Nha Trang attracts tourists for not only its stunningly pristine beaches but also the urban atmosphere of a young city. The best time to come to Nha Trang is from January to August, where you will experience the most wonderful weather for swimming and sunbathing. As this part of the country has its very own microclimate, it tends to rain from October until December. This is the time best avoided if you are into lazing on the beach or diving in crystal-clear waters.

Colourful coral reef underwater, clear aqua waters, abundant underwater life and heavenly beaches have made Nha Trang one of the best spots for scuba diving and snorkelling. It is not only the blissful beaches and glorious coastline that define Nha Trang. Some of the best dining beyond Hanoi and Saigon, with a bounty from the sea and an array of international flavours can be enjoyed here.

Cu Chi Tunnels

Cu Chi Tunnel

While history may not be everyone's favourite subject, we are confident that the Vietnam War of 1960 is something that everyone has heard off. Even prior to this historic war, the Vietnamese were trying to overthrow the French occupation. These campaigns against world powers required the technologically-backward peasants living in the districts outside of Ho Chi Minh City to resort to some novel means of not just fighting, but surviving. Most incredibly, these people dug a massive system of tunnels in the Cu Chi district, using just basic equipment and their own hands, and moved to living underground.

Nearly 16,000 people came to live in these tunnels that run for more than 200 kms, forcing Americans to send soldiers, and even dogs, to try and flush out the guerrillas. Historians have recorded that people even married and raised families in these tunnels while the war raged on the ground above. Ultimately, only about 6,000 people survived to continue life after the Americans moved out. The 'Cu Chi Tunnels' are a testament to nearly three decades of perseverance. Today, Cu Chi and the nearby villages might be flourishing, but they continue to feel the impact of such prolonged warfare.

For the foreign traveller, the Cu Chi tunnels might seem to be just another stop on the tourist trail through Vietnam, but for many locals, this is a marker of a violent chapter in the country's history, and is much revered as a shrine dedicated to the sacrifice of generations of patriotic Vietnamese.

We advise that while visiting the tunnels everyone should try to experience how difficult it is to life in this underground city.
