Detailed Itinerary:

DAY 01:GUWAHATI - SHILLONG

On arrival at Guwahati airport you will be received by our representative and driven to Shillong which is approximately 140 kms / 03 hrs drive. The drive from Guwahati to Shillong is a pleasure and the route winds you through the hills of sub Himalayan terrain. Do stopover at Nongpoh not only for refreshments but the sweet smelling fresh pineapples sold by the vendors straight from the farm. Enroute stop for a while at a beautiful lake north of Shillong - the Bara Pani, which resembles the 'Lochs', or lakes of Scotland. and is a perfect way to get introduced Shillong and around. On reaching check into hotel and relax. You have the evening to yourself at leisure.

DAY 02: SHILLONG - LANGKAWET

After breakfast visit some of main tourist spots of Shillong like the Don Bosco Museum, Wards lake and later drive to Langkawet. Here check into our camp site which will be your base camp for the rest of the days. Langkawet is a tiny village situated at a distance of 45 kms from Shillong. Set in stunningly beautiful surrounding, it's a historic place where erstwhile kings and queens took refuge. Rest of the day is at your leisure to explore the area on your own.

DAY 03: THE CULTURAL TRAIL

Gear up for a full day tour that will take us to the cultural and historical hotspots in the Khasi hills like Smit, the capital of the kingdom of Khyrim and Lyngkyrdem. The Syiem (King) of Khyrim presides over his durbar in this small but historic town. This is also the place where the High Priestess has her official residence. During our time at Smit we will visit the 'Ieng Sad Syiem' or the High Priestess's Palace at Smit, who is the custodian of the religious rituals and customs of the kingdom of Khyrim. This visit will enable you to gain a deep understanding of the origin of the Khasi tribes, their unique matrilineal social structure and their rites and rituals. Later visit Langkyrdem, the erstwhile capital of the kingdom of Khyrim, a place steeped in khasi history. A leisurely hour long hike from Langkyrdem along the King's Path brings us back to our camp site at Langkawet village. Lunch will be arranged at a local eatery.

DAY 04: WATERFALL TRAIL

Today after breakfast we will under take a 6-7 hour long hike through the forest to the beautiful Byrdew falls. After spending some time at the Byrdew return to camp from nearby Pomshutia village by vehicle. Lunch will be arranged at a local eatery enroute.

DAY 05: SOHRA - SHELLA HIKE

Today's hike takes one along a historic path built by the British, centuries ago, connecting Bangladesh with Cherrapunji. A three hour hike will take you from the Cherrapunji bazar down to the border town of Shella. Take a two hour detour from Mustoh village to see the unique limestone fields at Rinsong. Drive back to base from Shella. Lunch will be arranged enroute at a local eatery.

DAY 06: PYNURSLA - MAWLYNNONG HIKE

Today we hike for 5 hours along the King's Path, an ancient pathway built by Kings for the hill traders to reach the border ghaats of Bangladesh. Along the way, we will pass by the abandoned village of Kyndiar and learn of the legend that surrounds the abandonment of this village. Lunch will be arranged at a local eatery at Mawlynnong.

DAY 07: DAVID SCOTT TRAIL

Drive to the historic village of Mawphlang where the Sacred Grove is found. This forest, believed to be a thousand years old, is actively protected and harvesting of any forest produce is disallowed. Advance inside this forest and uncover the secrets it holds. Hike from Mawphlang to Lad Mawphlang (David Scott Trail), a 14 km, 5 hour trek which is a 200 year old mule track built by the colonials through the backdrop of beautiful landscape. Dry, packed lunch will be provided for the hike.

DAY 08: U LUM SOHPETBNENG TREK

Shillong, the capital of the state of Meghalaya is guarded by three peaks, Shillong Peak, the U Lum Sohpetbneng Peak and the Diengei Peak, all above 5000 feet, that stand as towering sentinels of the city. Most important to the region is the U Lum Sohpetbneng Peak, where it is believed that the followers of the indigenous religion communed with their creator, God. A seven kilometer hike will take you to the top of the peak where you get a grandstand view of the entire region. Learn of the myths and religious beliefs associated with the Khasi religion and see the sacred alter where sacrifices are offered to the creator God. Lunch will be arranged at a local restaurant beside the beautiful Umiam Lake. If time permits you can also try some water sports at Umiam Lake (cost not included in package)

DAY 09: WATERFALL HIKE

East Khasi hills is blessed with many spectacular water falls that come alive during the monsoons. This full day hike will take you to the Pynursla region which has some of the best waterfalls like the majestic Kshaid Uren, Kshaid Wahlangder, Kshaid Urkyrming, Kshaid Byrdew and the Kshaid Niriang waterfalls. Also learn of the legends and myths that surround them. This day entails short, brisk hikes to reach these waterfalls. Lunch will be arranged at a local eatery.

Foot-It at Siang Valley: 6D/5N

Detailed Itinerary:

DAY 01: DIBLUGARH ARRIVAL - AALO

On arrival you will be met by our representative at Dibrugarh airport and driven to the Bogibheel river port to board a ferry across the mighty Brahmaputra. On the other side of the river bank board your vehicle to continue your journey to Aalo. Aalo is the home of the Galo tribe and several other Adi sub tribes and Buddhist tribes of Memba and Khamba. This city is also the district capital of West Siang district. Enroute visit Galo tribal villages. On arrival at Aalo check-in to your hotel.

DAY 02: AALO - KOMSING ( 1 HR DRIVE + 3 /4 HRS TREK)

In the morning drive 35 kms to Sangam of the Siyom and Siang rivers. At this point the journey by road ends and we cross the Siang river on a suspension bridge to Komsing village. This village is of great historical value both in the surrounding areas and the state at large. It is there that the Anglo-Abor conflicts started with the killing of British Political Officer Mr. Neol Williamson. An epitaph is erected in his memory. Komsing and the area is inhabited by Adi-Minyong tribe of Arunachal Pradesh. This beautiful trek along the Siang river takes you through lush green forest, orange garden and streams. On arrival at the village you will be meet your local host. Later you can take a walk around to see the village.

DAY 03: KOMSING - PANGI (4 -5 HRS TREK)

Today trek to Pangi village, another village inhabited by the Minyong tribe. The trek will take you through the green forest and across many stress leading the way to Pangi. On arrival at the village have a late lunch and later walk around the village. In the evening you will spend more time with the host family getting to know them, understanding their ways of life and enjoying with their family.

DAY 04: PANGI - PASIGHAT

In the morning after breakfast bid farewell to your kind hosts and trek down to the Siang river and cross the bridge to right bank, board your car and drive down to Pasighat, the oldest town of Arunachal Pradesh. Pasighat is the district capital of East Siang, situated right beside the Siang river it is home of the numerous Adi group of tribes, mainly the Minyongs and Padams. On arrival at Pasighat visit Adi Padam village and later check into your hotel. In the evening walk around the local market in town.

DAY 05: PASIGHAT - DIBRUGARH

In the morning drive to the ferry point and board a ferry to cross the mighty Brahmaputra to Dibrugarh. On arrival check-in to your hotel. Evening at leisure.

Along the Dzukou Valley: 7D/6N

Detailed Itinerary:

DAY 01:DIMAPUR - KHONOMA (87 KMS 3½ HRS Drive)

On arrival at Dimapur airport you will be met by our representative and proceed by road to Khonoma. The Khonoma village is located at 20 km west of Kohima. The village offers a delightful views of Nagaland's natural beauty and ecological diversity Enroute you can stop at some local market where they sell organic vegetables.

DAY 02: KHONOMA - SEIKHAKIE (3KM/1HR Drive)

Today we start our day by touring Khonoma village, the "first green village of the country". The village setup a privately owned sanctuary and is managed by the Village Community - Khonoma Nature Conservation and Tragopan Sanctuary (KNCTS). KNCTS is a unique community initiative for wildlife and environment conservation. You can expect and look forward to hear, see and learn - History, Culture, Tradition and Nature. After your tour of the village enjoy a traditional lunch. Post lunch we trek to SEIKHAKIE base camp this distance of approximately 3 kms can be covered in 1 hour. Later in the evening ennjoy a camp-fire at the camp.

DAY 03: TREK TO DZUKOU

Kick-start the third day of the trip with some action packed trekking. Post breakfast, you will start trekking to Dzukou. The distance between Seikhakie and Dzukou is about 6 km and the distance can be covered in about three to four hours on foot. The Dzukou Valley is at an altitude of about 2700 meters above sea level and this trek is considered to quite challenging. En route, you will cross the Khonoma Nature Conservation and Tragopan Sanctuary and if you are lucky you might just get opportunities to spot wild animals and exotic birds. Lunch will be served on reaching Dzukou valley after which, you have the evening at leisure to explore the stunning valley; enjoy the beauty of its lush green landscape and meandering streams.

DAY 04: TREK TO DZULEKIE (8KM 3-4 HRS)

Wake up early to explore and enjoy the beauty of Dzukou Valley. After breakfast, you can either trek to a nearby waterfall, which is situated at a distance of about 3 km from your camp site or trek to the Dzulekei Village with packed lunch. Once there, you will be given a traditional welcome at a Morung by the locals. Explore around and spend some leisurely time there.

DAY 05: DZULEKIE - BENREU

On the morning of the fifth day, you will be driven to the Benreu Village after breakfast. The distance from Dzulekei to Benreu is about 25 km. At the village, you can visit the mystical Dzulekecie River and visit some locals at the Tepuki River. You can also take part in traditional fishing and enjoy a quiet little picnic lunch with your own catch by the river side. After this you can check-into your cottages. You can spend some leisurely time here and walk around and explore the village to understand more about the tradition and culture of the Naga's. Enjoy a sip of the local wine.

DAY 06: BENREU - MT.PAUNA - BENREU

On the morning of the sixth day of your trip will take you on a 6 Km trek to Mt Pauna, which is the third highest mountain in Nagaland. This mountain is also known as a Nature Museum because of its abundant wildlife and medicinal plants. Here you will break for lunch and enjoy your at Mt Pauna while enjoying the scenic view. After this we trek back to the Benreu village where you will stay overnight after a day of sightseeing and exploration.

DAY 7: BENREU - DIMAPUR - DEPARTURE (115KM/5 1/2HRS)

As the journey winds up, you will driven from Benreu to Dimapur. On your way, stop at the Pelekei Village, where you will witness the traditional salt preparation method. Post this, you will be driven to the Dimapur airport for departure.

Detailed Itinerary:

DAY 01:DIBRUGARH

Arrive at Dibrugarh airport, after a brief welcome you will be escorted to your hotel. Evening at leisure.

DAY 02: DIBRUGARH - SILAPATHAR

After breakfast we will drive a short distance to Bogibeel port where we will embark on a 2 hour ferry ride across the mighty Brahmaputra river; disembark on the north bank and drive 30 km to Silapathar. Check into Hotel and in the evening visit Malinithan, to see the ruins of the 10-11th century AD historic temple very near the Arunachal Pradesh border. According to the local legend associated with the place, Lord Krishna carried away Rukmini the daughter of King Bhismaka on the eve of her marriage with Shishupal. Krishna and Rukmini were welcomed here by Parvati with garlands. Parvati thus acquired the name Malini and the place Malinithan.

DAY 03: TREK TO ECCHI VILLAGE

Drive over to the Assam - Arunachal Pradesh border, brief entry formalities and we continue uphill, for now we are in the foothills, for 70 km on the Likabali - Basar road, climbing steadily all the while. Disembark, pick up trekking gear and with the help of porters and local guides we start trekking east towards Ecchi village. After 3 hours of trekking we come upon the village. While porters get busy preparing your tents/ homestays, you take rest in a village household as refreshments are distributed.

DAY 04: ECCHI VILLAGE

Walk in the village, go over to the nearby woods and a mountain stream - this is a very pristine and refreshing site which will rejuvenate you and prepare you for the next few days trekking.

DAY 05: TREK TO DARING

Kick-start the fifth day of the trip with some action packed trekking. After breakfast trek for about 3/ 4 hours to Daring. Daring is somewhat bigger than the other villages and more organized. On arrival you will be met by the village head, you will be escorted by him through the village. The chief will explain their customs/ traditions and daily life of the Adi Gallongs, the main tribe of this area.

DAY 06: TREK TO JIMME VILLAGE

Today we trek to Jimme village, 3 hours going through tropical vegetation. In the afternoon, those who are interested, can walk in the nearby area looking for birds.

DAY 07: TREK TO ZIRDO

Today after breakfast we going on our journey with a 4 hour trek to Zirdo. Zirdo is a small village located in remotest area of west Siang district, the village is totally inhabited by the galo tribe with population having more than 500. Here one can see the old tradition of Galo rituals and practices as do carry on by hundred decades. Evening free at leisure.

DAY 08: TREK TO KADU VILLAGE

We go through thick vegetation to the village of Kadu. This is a 4 to 5 hours trek. This is also the last Adi Gallong village. The tribe in the next village is Adi Minyong. We are served a hearty Gallong cuisine as a farewell by the Gallongs.

DAY 09: TREK TO KOYU VILLAGE

On the ninth day of our program we will undertake a 4 hours trek to Koyu village which is inhabited by the Adi Minyong tribe. The village is located much closer to the plains and will be our last day of trekking. In the evening you will be treated to a traditional dance followed by local liquor (not compulsory) and food. Minyong people are known for their bravery as they have fought war against British Expedition to the hilly region in late 19th century. Like any other tribes of ADI they celebrate Solung, Aran and Etor as their festivals.

DAY 10: KOYU - PASIGHAT

We rejoin our vehicles in the morning and then drive 3 hours to Pasighat, the headquarters of the district. Check into Hotel, evening at leisure.

DAY 11: PASIGHAT - DIBRUGARH

Take the ferry from Oriam ghat, 35 km from Pasighat and sail down the River Brahmaputra for a 5 hours trip back to Dibrugarh.
