Arunachal Pradesh

Once described as the 'Hidden Land' has now opened its doors to outsiders. Located on the northeastern tip of India, this is the first state to greet sunrise in the country. The state is a botanist's delight with hundreds of tree and plant species, some of which are yet to be catalogued and having more than five hundred species of orchids, some endemic to the region. Besides, its endless variation of scenic beauty makes it an ideal holiday destination, though, due to it being unexplored in most parts and also because it has embraced tourism only recently accommodation may not be of top quality but the rest of the things more than make up for this.

In the east and central part, some age old traditions still rule the lives of the tribes and in the west it's the Tibetan Buddhism that has taken root. The sixth Dalai Lama was born here, the thirteenth found refuge here and the fourteenth chose to travel through this state to his present day abode at Dharamshala.

Arunachal Pradesh is also home to aboriginal tribes that have a distinct dialect hence the language of the state is highly influenced by these tribal people. The principal tribes are Adis, Nishi, Apatani, Tagin, Mismi, Khampti, Noite, Wancho, Tangsha, Singpho, Monpa, Sherdukpen and Aka. These tribes speak their own tongues.
